Bearings, pivots and metal can corrode with aggressive cleaning agents. We’ve seen so many different case scenarios…dish washing soap was used as a cleaning agent and fouled the brake pads and rotors. This bike could not stop and it produced a wicked brake howl that covered a one hundred yard radius. After a ton of work we were able to clean the rotors, but the pads had to be replaced. Another incident we found was the corrosion on a set of hand built wheels in for service, the aluminum nipples crumbled as we attempted to true and tension the wheel set so it required a complete rebuild.
Muc-Off is the one product that does it all without fouling the rotors or decaying aluminum. It’s so easy to use, just spray on with minimal scrubbing and hose off with water then take it a step further with the Muc-Off Bike Spray which dissipates water and leaves a lusty shine and repels dust.
