This SB165 build illustrates a nice balance between bling and budget.
Chris King hubs are a strong start for any wheels. With unmatched service life and strength your King wheels might just move to your next build, and maybe the next again.
This build features WTB KOM Tough i35 rims. WTB’s aluminum offerings provide excellent torque transfer and strength without killing the budget.
Magura MT7 brakes provide class leading modulation and power. A variety of lever options for the Magura MT7s allow riders to tune the brake’s personality even further.
4 piston brakes provide better power as well as heat capacity. This allows riders to choose to run smaller rotors if they prefer, again allowing for a very personalized setup.

Race Face Next R 35 bars with the Race Face Turbine R stem and Chris King Dropset. The Race Face Next R is a slightly lighter feel bar than the more DH oriented SixC providing a bit more trail dampening.
The Yeti SB165’s Switch Infinity suspension was designed for the Fox DHX2 coil. The more linear feel of a coil is often preferred on park or big terrain bikes like the SB165.
You can read more about tuning coil suspension in a recent BikeCo Blog here.
The Ergon saddle selection provides riders a variety of light as well as comfortable saddles. My highest praise for the Ergon saddle is I don’t notice it…
The Yeti SB165 was developed from the previous 27.5″ SB6 as well as the enduro crushing 29″ SB150. The SB165 is lively and the smaller 27.5″ wheels allow quicker direction changes. Another intriguing option with the SB165 is a 29″ front setup, or Mullet build.
You can learn more about the 29″ front / 27.5″ rear Mullet concept Here.
