MTB shoes are about more than a stylish look. Now, that’s not to say that a stylish look isn’t important – but tread composition, quality construction and attention to detail are critical.
The best MTB shoes play a big part in the quality of your ride. Obviously fit is critical but did you know that the sole’s stiffness effects your efficiency?
Not through torque transfer as much as support.
Shoes without a supportive sole require more leg muscles to support your weight during the pedal stroke. An appropriately stiff sole provides more support easing the load on your legs.

Five-Ten Shoes
We are carrying the Five-Ten Freerider PRO, Freerider PRO Canvas and Freerider PRO Core flat pedal shoes.
The Freerider series feature Five-Ten’s famous Stealth Rubber for incredible pedal traction. The Stealth rubber sole is designed with small circles and moderate open space allowing the shoe to clear water or debris on the occasional hike a bike section.

Ride Concepts Shoes
Available to both flat and clipless riders BikeCo carries the Ride Concepts Hellion Clip, TNT and Livewire shoes.
The Ride Concepts lineup include some great MTB shoe features such as confident sole technologies and increased ankle support as well as protection.
Ride Concepts Hellion Clip shown above. The Hellion Clip provides riders a bit of additional support and retention with a well designed velcro strap.
Ride Concepts Livewire MTB shoe combines casual look with trail performance. Available in Black or Blue Smoke.
Ride Concepts TNT flat pedal shoe offers more support with taller ankle support as well as an additional velcro strap compared to the more casual models. The inner ankle also features some additional protection against painful strikes from the crank arms.
