Ibis Ripley LS NX Complete Build

With the Ibis Ripley LS NX Complete riders find previously unseen performance that’s easy on the budget. The Ripley LS NX kit features 1×11 SRAM NX drivetrain, Fox Suspension, Ibis wheels, and a KS adjustable seat post. In addition rider’s may upgrade to carbon fiber Ibis bars, Factory Kashima Suspension, and Ibis 942 carbon wheels.

The Ibis Ripley LS’s latest iteration produces a bike that is amazingly capable up and downhill. When it was originally launched the Ripley LS was ahead of it’s competition in the trail riding category. The latest version of the Ripley LS brings refinements to the trail category as well as the ability to carry 2.5-2.6″ tires which begins knocking on the Enduro riding realm. Not surprisingly, riders note that the stiffer chassis translates to improved trail tracking with higher speed capacity. In particular the improved lateral stiffness benefits larger riders, who now may comfortably push the Ripley LS into burlier terrain.

At BikeCo we have found that the Ripley LS pairs well with both 130 and 140mm fork options depending on riding style. The additional 10mm produces a slightly slacker bike comparatively giving a bit more speed / steep capacity. 130mm forks produce a more XC / Trail feel -in effect quick and nimble with a bit more front end grip on the climb.

BikeCo Pro Tune Suspension

You’ve decided the Ibis Ripley LS is the frame for you and want to take it’s performance to the next level? Personalize the Fox Suspension’s performance with a BikeCo Pro Tune. Click on the Pro Tune tab to learn in what sets BikeCo’s custom tuned suspension apart!

BikeCo Frame Prep

All frame, frame kit as well as complete purchases receive a thorough BikeCo Frame Prep.  Riding a bike without appropriate bearing retention, torque and alignment is hard on components. As a result “loose” bikes not only make noise but will also wear prematurely. BikeCo’s expert mechanics go through each chassis ensuring that suspension, bearings, and hardware are setup for maximum performance as well as longevity. Many home builders have a full frame assembly completed by BikeCo mechanics to ensure the best setup, in brief headsets, bottom brackets, suspension, derailleur hangers, etc are gone through piece by piece.

Need some inspiration for your build? Check out BikeCo’s Ibis Ripley LS Frame Kit where riders can spec suspension, headset and adjustable seatpost options. Or check out the Ripley LS Factory Builds including NX, GX, XT, X01 and XX1 options.

Comparing Ibis Ripley LS vs Ripmo

to RIPLEY or RIPMO – we asked a long time client and Ripley owner for his thoughts after demo-ing the Ripmo.

From Ibis’ Site:

3rd Generation RIPLEY LS

The Ripley LS is a 29″ wheel trail bike with 120mm of rear wheel travel, mated to a 130mm travel front fork.

The talented Mr. Ripley, our first 29er trail bike, has been in production for 4 years. During that time it’s grown a little burlier, a little longer, and become slacker.  With the Generation 3 release, we’ve added clearance for the new generation of not quite plus sized, wide rim specific tires.   It will come stock with pretty much perfect-for-a-29er Schwalbe 2.6″ rubber. If you’re an enduro bro, and like to point it downhill through rock gardens without using your brakes very much, this new Ripley also has clearance for burly Maxxis 2.5 WT tires. Both the Schwalbe 2.6 and the Maxxis WT are designed specifically for the wider rims that we’ve been producing for the last few years. And just like that, the Ripley became even more versatile.

WHAT’S NEW IN THE 3rd generation RIPLEY LS

We have increased the tire clearance to accept up to 29 x 2.6″ Schwalbe or Maxxis 2.5 WT tires
The upper eccentric is wider, resulting in a stiffer swingarm connection
Two new colors (we’re calling them “Vitamin P” and “Ti-Ho Silver”)

Maximize your suspension’s performance with BikeCo Pro Tunes

BikeCo offers proprietary Pro Tune services on the majority of Fox forks and rear shocks.

Fox Suspension is the pinnacle of performance, reliability, and longevity in our industry. Stock Fox suspension comes out of the box with a fairly aggressive tune – which is terrific for powerful, strong, aggressive riders with high ground speeds. Sounds like their World Cup DH and Enduro riders, right?

Pro Tune services calibrate the incredible performance of Fox suspension into a narrower band personalized to your riding specifics.

Utilizing a combination of proprietary lube oils, improved upper to lower fork fit, shim stack configuration, updated oil flow, unmatched bleed quality, and a few other trade secrets BikeCo Pro Tunes improve tracking, small bump compliance, minimize brake dive, run cooler (equating to more predictable performance from top to bottom of your descent), operates comfortably in a wide range of temperature (we test from freezing to 100 degrees), improves oil circulation, extends service intervals and more.

The most important advantage of Pro Tune suspension? Whether you are new to the sport or an experienced pro: suspension that works will let you ride more confidently. You will ride faster and have more fun with BikeCo Pro Tune Suspension.

To ensure that your suspension is dialed in our staff will review your riding experience, aspirations, ground speeds, size (height and weight) as well as specific chassis. BikeCo stands behind our Pro Tune service with a 30 day retune service if you feel that your particular riding requires a shift in tuning. BikeCo also offers discounted disposition retunes as your skillset progress if required.

After the Pro Tune your suspension only requires standard levels of maintenance in the future. To maintain the best performance BikeCo recommends sending the suspension in (we use proprietary lube oils, have specific bleed techniques, etc) although standard Fox oils can be used. Standard lubes will compromise some of the finite tune but with the other Pro Tune modifications a standard lube shock will still out perform stock.
