Compare Mondraker Crusher Builds

BikeCo.com is all about getting people on what they’re looking for – we specialize in dialing in our clients giving them the quick truth about what they’re looking at and what the best options are.

There are a pair of reasons riders shopping the Mondraker Crusher often end up on the Crafty Carbon:

The Crusher features a carbon fiber front triangle with an aluminum rear triangle. Many riders prefer the full carbon frame of the Crafty Carbon.

Secondly, the Mondraker Crusher is spec’d with the Mondraker M068 derailleur hanger (like the other 160/150 alloy eMTB Mondraker Crafty). Riders who are considering SRAM Transmission options down the line should consider jumping over to the Mondraker Crafty Carbon which features the SRAM UDH derailleur hanger.

Mondraker’s Crusher is an eMTB with 150mm travel frame and a 160mm fork. This produces a 65 degree headtube angle, about half a degree slacker than the 160mm Crafty Carbon – although similar to the Crafty Carbon with a 170mm fork option.

Like we mentioned above the Crusher is a carbon fiber front triangle paired to an aluminum rear triangle.

The Crusher is built in four sizes to accommodate riders from around 5’4″ to 6’6″. Scroll down for more info on the Crusher’s sizing and geo.

Three kits are available from Mondraker for the Crusher. The Crusher RR, Crusher R and Crusher. Each Crusher built features the Shimano STEPS EP801 motor, Shimano EN600 display as well as Simplo Internal 720Wh G3 battery.

Mondraker Crusher Kit Differences

Here’s a quick look at the Mondraker Crusher builds.

Suspension

On the Crusher kit riders find FOX Performance suspension. A 160mm FOX 38 Performance GRIP fork and a FOX Performance Float X shock.

On the Crusher R and Crusher RR riders find an Ohlins RXF 38 M.2 fork set at 170mm as well as an Ohlins TTX Air shock.

The FOX Factory and Ohlins suspension offer similar adjustments however have different feels on trail. The FOX Performance spec on the Crusher doesn’t have the external compression controls that the Factory suspension does (although the fork can easily have the damper changed).

The Ohlins suspension is designed for a more plush feel while FOX tends to ride a bit more progressive staying a bit higher in the travel for a similar sag setup. Larger riders should chat with our team regarding the trail differences between the FOX and Ohlins bikes.

Cockpit and Brakes

All three kits use 31.8mm diameter cockpit setups.

SRAM brakes are found on the Crusher R and Crusher utilizing 200mm rotors. The Crusher RR is spec’d with 4-piston Shimano XT brakes and 203mm Ice Tech rotors.

Read about common upgrades and part swaps on the next tab for more details about the Mondraker cockpit and brake spec.

Drivetrain

Both the Crusher and Crusher R build kits spec SRAM drivetrains. Both of these kits utilize cable driven SRAM drivetrains.

On the Mondraker Crusher RR riders will find Shimano’s Di2 drivetrain.

Mondraker Crusher Common Upgrades and Swaps

Mondraker Crusher eMTB Upgrades and Swaps

BikeCo loves offering riders the ability to fine tune or dial in that perfect bike spec. From minor swaps or want to dial in a full custom Mondraker Crusher BikeCo is the resource.

All and all there is a lot of value for your dollar in the Mondraker builds. But, it’s common for riders to develop preferences.

Whether it’s a performance swap or upgrade or getting you that perfect part in the right color to personalize the Crusher’s performance or look we have you covered.

Common Crusher Upgrades

These are areas we commonly see riders update a bike purchase. Some are personal preference, others are budget or performance choices. Questions? Chat, email or call our expert sales staff and we will help you buy the perfect Mondraker Crusher.

Rider Contact Points

Do you have a preferred grip and pedal go-to?

We can provide a range of grips with variable patterns, technology and shape to improve your riding. There might even be a grip in a color to set off your new bike as well.

A lot of riders purchasing a new bike find it a good time to refresh their pedals. We have the best clipless and flat options for a wide range of riding styles at unbeatable prices.

Tires

Like contact points its not unusual for riders to have a “must-have” go to tire spec. This is one of the most common swaps on builds from any manufacturer. With notable performance differences between tread pattern, compound and sidewall lets make sure we get you on the perfect tire setup.

The Crusher is spec’d with Maxxis EXO+ sidewalls and 3C MaxxTerra compound tires. On the front riders find a 2.6″ Minion DHF and a 2.6″ Minion DHR II in the rear.

This is a very popular option – however – it’s pretty common to see minor modifications or even entire swaps on this tire setup. Many eMTB riders will prefer to move to Double Down or even DH tires to maximize the small bump compliance of their bike. Others may want a more aggressive tread pattern like the Maxxis Assegai. A few may even want a slightly faster rolling rear tires like the Maxxis Aggressor.

Know what you’re looking for? Stoked – let us know and we’ll get the right tires on your new bike. Wondering what’s right for you? No problem there either. Chat with our team about how tires will change your bike’s overall personality as well as how to match your riding style to them. Questions on what tires are right for your riding style and locale? No problem – chat with our team about swapping to tires perfect for you on your new eMTB.

Maybe you’re also thinking about rim protection? We have that covered too. We often see riders use combinations of CushCore PRO and CushCore XC or even a single rim protection strip (usually on the rear tire). Questions? Let us know!

Cockpit

Along with Brakes, Cockpit is the most common place we see part swaps and upgrades. Since fit is so important to your bike it’s not surprising that you’ll want to work with a resource that has more than 1 option!

On eMTB bikes its common to see riders looking for handlebar designs that maximize small bump compliance. The heavier eMTB bikes often utilize more progressive suspension setups for ultimate performance. This means finding small bump compliance elsewhere is important on you aggressive eMTB build.

The most common handlebar for eMTB purchases is the OneUp carbon e-bar. Designed with a unique shape to provide maximum stiffness in a fore/aft load but while offering subtle give in vertical loads.

Another common handlebar spec is the carbon option from TAG Metals which has an ovalized internal design for similar performance benefits.

Handlebar rise and overall stiffness also improve the personalization and performance of your bike. As you trim your bars they will get stiffer due to the decreased lever arm – so if you’ve got narrower shoulders you’ll likely want to start with a narrower bar rather than cutting tons off. Similarly getting the right bar rise will help your setup. Ideally you want your hands in a power position. Too low and the bike will try to pull “under” and out in steep chutes. Too tall and you’ll lose front end grip. While some of this is adapted with headset spacers the preference for performance and looks is generally to have 15-30mm of spacers and get the rest of the rise from the handlebar.

Looking for suggestions? Chat with our team about hand positioning and the advantages of getting the right handlebar rise on your new rig. We have the best in the market from OneUp, Tag, Renthal and Raceface.

Brakes

This is one of the most common swaps or upgrades on any bike. Brakes that compliment your riding style and preference make a huge difference on trail. We offer class leading options in a variety of price points from Hope, Magura, Shimano and TRP.

Most riders will update brakes on the Mondraker builds.

Shimano brakes are very popular and are spec’d on several of the build options. Shimano brakes have good overall power with quick lever throw. This produces a brake with a strong feel.

TRP brakes are similar to the Shimano lineup. The TRP brakes provide a touch more overall power and extra modulation compared to Shimano offerings.

Riders who prefer a bit more modulation or “feel” to their brakes gravitate towards Hope and Magura.

The latest Hope Tech 4 updates have improved their power. This puts the Hope Tech 4 in the Shimano and Magura range for overall power while retaining the excellent modulation Hope has been known for.

Magura brakes are the most frequent swap or upgrade across all Ibis builds. Riders who appreciate modulation and power will find Magura excellent in both aspects. Magura offers models with across a wide price range allowing budget friendly swaps or upgrades. Riders looking for the most adjustability or tuning for their brakes will shop the MT7 with HC3 levers.

Custom Wheels

Handbuilt or custom wheels are another popular upgrade no matter what brand you’re shopping. Custom wheels allow riders to spec a rim, spoke and hub combination as well as build specifics for the ultimate performance.

We see many riders work with NOX carbon or WTB, Factor and RideFast alloy options.

Riders also will find traction from using the right spokes and build techniques. Our team will help you define this at time of purchase to ensure you maximize performance and longevity.

Popular hubs from Chris King, Industry Nine, Onyx and Factor are spec’d on eMTB builds. All of these hubs are available in a range of colors to highlight your build with the strength to handle the extra power from the motor.

Pro Tune Suspension

Take your bike’s performance to the next level with our proprietary Pro Tune Suspension. Our team will custom tune your FOX fork and rear shock and narrow the performance from the FOX Factory range to a more precise setup designed for your riding style, aggression, ground speed, size and terrain.

This is one of the biggest upgrades to any bike – having the suspension dialed in as well as having a resource like BikeCo to help you fine tune the bike at time of delivery and as your riding speeds increase!

BikeCo Pro Tune Suspension – because Every Click Counts.

Mondraker Crusher Geometry

Mondraker offers the Crusher  in Small, Medium, Large and X-Large.  This gives the Crusher a fit option for a wide range of eMTB riders.

Use the tabs below for more info on the Crusher Geo, compare sizes with the Geo Chart as well as see how the Crusher measures up against other Enduro eMTB bikes on the Comparison tab.

eMTB bikes like the Mondraker Crusher are sized from rider height as well as leg and arm length. Riders who find their height in the cross-over of sizes will determine the better size based typically on inseam, flexibility and riding style.

Those with longer legs tend to upsize to improve riding position. This will increase the wheelbase and produce a bike with a bit more overall speed capacity. Going to a larger size will produce a ride that isn’t quite as snappy as a smaller option would be.

Riders with longer torsos or looking for a more “poppy” trail feel will tend to downsize. Although, with modern MTB frames designed to accommodate increased dropper post lengths riders who prefer the added wheelbase may upsize – so long as the reach doesn’t compromise stem size availability or put a rider “too far” over the front wheel.

Use the tabs to compare Mondraker sizes as well as other eMTB bikes.

Mondraker Neat Kit Differences

Here’s a quick look at the stock Mondraker Neat light eMTB builds.

Suspension

All three Neat builds are spec’d with FOX Suspension. However the Neat R is offered with FOX Performance fork and rear shock compared to the RR and RR SL with the FOX Factory offerings.

The major difference here is the additional compression controls found on the Factory forks and rear shocks. This allows riders more tuning capacity which is great for eMTB setup, even on the lighter eMTB offerings like the Mondraker Neat.

There are a lot of upgrades and swaps to Performance suspension bikes – see the next tab for more details.

Cockpit and Brakes

All three kits use 31.8mm diameter cockpit setups. The R features aluminum bars while the RR and RR SL spec the Onoff Krypton Carbon 800mm bar.

SRAM brakes are found on all three bikes as well utilizing 200mm rotors.

Rider’s find a lot of value in the Mondraker builds, but it’s common for riders to develop preferences.

Whether it’s a performance swap or upgrade or getting you that perfect part in the right color to personalize the Neat’s performance or look we have you covered.

Common Neat eMTB Upgrades

These are areas we commonly see riders update a bike purchase. Some are personal preference, others are budget or performance choices. Questions? Chat, email or call our expert sales staff and we will help you buy the perfect Mondraker Neat eMTB.

The Neat is spec’d with Maxxis EXO+ sidewalls and 3C MaxxTerra compound tires. On the front riders find a 2.5″ Minion DHF and a 2.4″ Minion DHR II in the rear.

Mondraker Neat Geometry

The Neat eMTB is offered in Small, Medium, Large and X-Large.  This gives the Mondraker light eMTB a fit option for a wide range of riders.

Use the tabs below for more info on the Neat Geo, compare sizes with the Geo Chart as well as see how the Neat measures up against other Enduro eMTB bikes on the Comparison tab.

eMTB bikes like the Mondraker Neat are sized from rider height as well as leg and arm length.

Mondraker Crafty Geometry

The Crafty is offered in Small, Medium, Large and X-Large.  This gives the Crafty a fit option for a wide range of eMTB riders.

Use the tabs below for more info on the Crafty Geo, compare sizes with the Geo Chart as well as see how the Crafty measures up against other Enduro eMTB bikes on the Comparison tab.

Mondraker Crafty Carbon Kit Differences

Here’s a quick look at the Mondraker Crafty Carbon builds.

Suspension

On the Crafty Carbon R riders find FOX Performance suspension. A 160mm FOX 38 Performance GRIP fork and a FOX Performance Float X shock.

The RR and RR SL both feature the top tier FOX Factory components. A 160mm FOX 38 Factory GRIP2 offers riders both high and low speed rebound as well as compression controls. Further fine tuning can be achieved through volume spacers and PSI. The FOX Factory Float X rear shock is a nice compliment to this fork with rebound and compression controls.

On the Crafty Carbon XR riders find an Ohlins RXF 38 M.2 fork set at 170mm as well as an Ohlins TTX Air shock.

The FOX and Ohlins suspension offer similar adjustments however have different feels on trail.

SRAM brakes are found on all three bikes as well utilizing 200mm rotors.

Read about common upgrades and part swaps on the next tab for more details about the Mondraker cockpit and brake spec.

Drivetrain

All four of the Crafty Carbon build kits spec SRAM drivetrains. The R and XR feature cable driven SRAM options while the RR and RR SL have SRAM’s new Transmission wireless kits. The Transmission drivetrain was designed and built to be the strongest and longest lasting components available. They’re a great option on higher torque eMTB bikes like the Crafty Carbon.

Common Mondraker Crafty Carbon upgrades and part swaps by BikeCo.com

Mondraker Crafty Carbon Upgrades and Swaps

BikeCo loves offering riders the ability to fine tune or dial in that perfect bike spec. Whether you’re looking for some minor swaps or want to dial in a full custom Mondraker Crafty Carbon you’ve found the resource.

All and all there is a lot of value for your dollar in the Mondraker builds. But, it’s common for riders to develop preferences.

Whether it’s a performance swap or upgrade or getting you that perfect part in the right color to personalize the Crafty’s performance or look we have you covered.

Common Crafty Carbon Upgrades

These are areas we commonly see riders update a bike purchase. Some are personal preference, others are budget or performance choices. Questions? Chat, email or call our expert sales staff and we will help you buy the perfect Mondraker Crafty Carbon.

The Crafty Carbon is spec’d with Maxxis EXO+ sidewalls and 3C MaxxTerra compound tires.

Dialing in the perfect Mondraker Crafty Carbon Build

Still have questions? If you’re here to compare Mondraker Crafty Carbon kits we’d expect you to have questions! Don’t be shy, our team is here to help you define what you need to take your bike build from “this is good” to “man, this is DIALED.”

Mondraker Crafty Carbon Geometry

The Crafty Carbon is offered in Small, Medium, Large and X-Large.  This gives the Crafty Carbon a fit option for a wide range of eMTB riders.

Use the tabs below for more info on the Crafty Carbon Geo, compare sizes with the Geo Chart as well as see how the Crafty Carbon  measures up against other Enduro eMTB bikes on the Comparison tab.

eMTB bikes like the Mondraker Crafty Carbon are sized from rider height as well as leg and arm length.

Dialing in the perfect Mondraker Dusk RR SE Build

Still have questions? If you’re here to compare Mondraker Dusk kits we’d expect you to have questions! Don’t be shy, our team is here to help you define what you need to take your bike build from “this is good” to “man, this is DIALED.”

Mondraker Dusk Geometry

The Dusk is offered in Small, Medium, Large and X-Large.  This gives the Crafty a fit option for a wide range of eMTB riders.

Use the tabs below for more info on the Dusk Geo, compare sizes with the Geo Chart as well as see how the Dusk measures up against other Enduro eMTB bikes on the Comparison tab.

eMTB bikes like the Mondraker Dusk are sized from rider height as well as leg and arm length.

Compare Yeti 160E Build Kits

Let’s get into the 160E kits. Below we will compare the Yeti T3 X0 Transmission, T2 and C1 builds.

Shared Highlights of all 160E Kits:

TURQ Carbon Frames

Typically Yeti specs TURQ Carbon frames for the T series builds and Carbon series for the C spec.

However, with the eMTB 160E Yeti specs their top tier TURQ Carbon on all three bikes.

TURQ Carbon layups are slightly lighter than their Carbon counterparts, but most notably the TURQ Carbon frames are a bit more vibrant and stay that way longer into their service lives.

160E Drive Unit and Battery

All Yeti 160E builds feature the Shimano EP800 drive unit, EM800 Display as well as the Shimano 630Wh battery.

Cockpit

Each kit features a Yeti Carbon 35x800mm bar, Burgtec Enduro 50mm stem as well as ODI Elite Pro grips.

Cockpit is an area of frequent swaps and upgrades. Check out the Common Upgrades tab below to learn more about how the right handlebar, stem and grips will improve your riding.

Tires

Spec’d with the Maxxis Assegai EXO Plus front tire and a Minion DHR II Double Down the 160E has a popular setup for a wide range of riders. However, like cockpit, saddle and brakes there is A LOT of personality attached to your bike’s tires.

Read on the Swaps and Upgrades for more insight on popular tire setups we spec for Enduro eMTB bikes like the class leading 160E.

Yeti 160E Kit Differences

The 160E is offered in three kits (four if you act quickly and take advantage of the 2023 C1 build…). The C1 builds are spec’d with Shimano and the T series bikes feature SRAM drivetrains. There are some other important spec changes between these builds as pointed out below.

FOX Factory or Performance Suspension

Yeti’s 160E T3 X0 Transmission and T2 bikes feature a FOX Factory 38 GRIP2 fork and FOX Factory X2 shock spec. The C1 builds are spec’d with a FOX Performance GRIP fork as well as a FOX Performance Float X shock.

With FOX Factory suspension riders have the ultimate suspension damper design at their fingertips. On both the GRIP2 as well as the Factory X2 shock riders have easy adjustments for high and low speed rebound as well as high and low speed compression. These improved controls are great for heavier eMTB riding.

T3 X0 Transmission versus T2 Kit

The Yeti T3 X0 Transmission, like it’s name implies, features the latest wireless SRAM Transmission drivetrain. The T2 build is spec’d with cable driven SRAM Eagle bits.

On the C1 build riders find Shimano SLX drivetrain.

Common Yeti 160E Upgrades and part swaps

Yeti 160E Upgrades and Swaps

BikeCo loves offering riders the ability to fine tune or dial in that perfect bike spec. Whether you’re looking for some minor swaps or want to dial in a full custom Yeti 160E you’ve found the resource.

Yeti spec’s great kit options for the 160E. Few components on the 160E builds would be considered “no-go”, all and all there is a lot of value for your dollar in the Yeti build. But, it’s common for riders to develop preferences. Whether it’s a performance swap or upgrade or getting you that perfect part in the right color to personalize the 160E’s performance or look we have you covered.

Common 160E Upgrades

These are areas we commonly see riders update a bike purchase. Some are personal preference, others are budget or performance choices. Questions? Chat, email or call our expert sales staff and we will help you buy the perfect Yeti 160E.

Rider Contact Points

Do you have a preferred grip and pedal go-to?

We can provide a range of grips with variable patterns, technology and shape to improve your riding. There might even be a grip in a color to set off your Turquoise, Rhino or Black 160E as well.

The 160E is spec’d with an Assegai EXO Plus front tire and a Minion DHR II Double Down Rear.

It’s not unusual to see riders upgrade to a Double Down front tire. This adds some tire protection but more notably increases the small bump compliance damping through the tire allowing for a more progressive suspension setup to resist the heavier eMTB weight shifts while riding.

On the rear tire we often see riders take advantage of the eMTB drive system and swap to a more aggressive tread pattern like the Assegai.

On eMTB bikes like the 160E its common to see riders looking for handlebar designs that maximize small bump compliance. Like we mentioned with the Double Down front tire, the heavier eMTB bikes often utilize more progressive suspension setups for ultimate performance. This means finding small bump compliance elsewhere is important on you 160E build.

The most common handlebar for eMTB purchases is the OneUp carbon e-bar. Designed with a unique shape to provide maximum stiffness in a fore/aft load but while offering subtle give in vertical loads.

Most riders will update brakes on the Yeti 160E.

Custom wheels for Ibis builds usually feature slightly narrower rim options. This will decrease the volume slightly as well as shifting the tire’s shape to provide more grip in high lean cornering. We see many riders work with NOX carbon or WTB, Factor and RideFast alloy options.

Riders also will find traction from using the right spokes and build techniques. Our team will help you define this at time of purchase to ensure you maximize performance and longevity.

Popular hubs from Chris King, Industry Nine, Onyx and Factor are spec’d on Yeti 160E builds. All of these hubs are available in a range of colors to highlight your build.

Wireless Shifting

Yeti offers a range of wireless shifting with the new SRAM Transmission series.

On the 160E T3 X0 Transmission riders find the strongest and longest lasting wireless shifting option on the market. Few riders would upgrade a T2 bike to wireless as it basically just becomes the T3 X0 Transmission bike.

However, on the Shimano C1 kits we do see wireless upgrades. Some riders swap out to the new SRAM GX Transmission kits, or even GX AXS upgrades. While not for everyone, you might be intrigued by mating the GX AXS with Shimano Drivetrains. Chat with our team about your various options.

GX AXS Transmission Suspension Details

The Ibis Oso GX Transmission build features a FOX Performance Float 38 fork with a GRIP damper.

The rear shock is a FOX Performance Elite X2. The Performance Elite utilizes the same damper as the FOX Factory X2 but with the black ano shock shaft.

A very popular upgrade to the Oso GX Transmission is to swap the GRIP damper for a GRIP2 damper. This creates essentially a Performance Elite fork. Like the rear shock a Performance Elite fork provides high and low speed compression as well as rebound settings. These four adjustments as well as volume spacing produce the widest setup range available.

You can read more about the advantages and setup of the Factory and Performance Elite 38 and X2 by following the links below:

GX AXS Transmission Wheel and Tire Details

Ibis spec’s the Blackbird Send with Ibis hubs for the Oso GX Transmission build. These are great wheels for riders looking at higher volume options.

Some eMTB riders will upgrade the wheels to more robust hub systems such as Chris King, Industry Nine or Onyx. If you’re shopping hubs it’s a good time to consider whether you’ll prefer aluminum rims like the WTB, RideFast or Factor or whether the improved power transfer and tracking of carbon like NOX or Ibis Carbon suit your riding.

BikeCo offers a selection of the best components built by our in-house experts. This allows us to fine tune your wheelset to compliment your riding style nad needs.

With the addition of the Bosch motor the eMTB Oso specs tires known for great performance in burly terrain. Both front and rear tire are spec’d with 3C MaxxGrip rubber and Double Down sidewall technology.

Some riders will prefer a rear tire with a bit more bite than the Aggressor to compliment the Assegai front tire.

Have a favorite tire combo? Let’s get you dialed in. Tires are a very personal feel and if you prefer an EXO Plus rear, or a Double Down front, or a DHF, Dissector, Aggressor, whatever – let’s get you setup right, right out of the box.

GX AXS Transmission Cockpit & Brakes Details

Spec’d with the Carbon HiFi 800mm bar and Ibis Alloy 31.8mm stem the Oso GX Transmission offers a good baseline of performance.

Some riders will prefer higher rise bars or 35mm diameter options. We offer great handlebars from OneUp Components, Renthal, Tag as well as Race Face.

Many eMTB riders will upgrade to the OneUp Components e-bar and a compatible stem for clean cockpit routing.

Wondering what’s right for you? Let us define which bars are best for your size and riding style.

Have a grip / bar / stem combo you like? Let’s get you dialed. Chat with our team about part swaps and upgrades across the GX Transmission build

The Oso features great eMTB brakes: the Shimano XT M8120 4-piston and 220mm rotors. However, many riders may prefer a different feel – particularly on an eMTB that’s heavier and will require some additional braking compared to a standard bike.

Popular Brake Swaps & Upgrades to the Ibis Oso GX

We offer the best brakes from Shimano, TRP, Hope and Magura.

Getting brakes that compliment your riding style is important for your bike’s performance.

Riders looking for great power with snappy performance gravitate to Shimano SLX, XT and XTR brakes.

TRP offers even a little more power with slightly improved modulation compared to Shimano.

With the Tech 4 Hope has increased their total power in-line with Shimano and Magura without compromising their amazing modulation.

Magura continues to be the most popular aftermarket brake, especially installed on new builds. We will credit you for any part swaps and with the variety of Magura price points most riders find the MT5 and MT7 brakes provide unbeatable value. Magura brakes offer great total power and top tier modulation without feeling soft. Magura offers a variety of brake levers to help riders fine tune their performance.

Ibis Oso Geometry

Learn more about the Ibis Oso GX Transmission Build geometry on the tabs below.

Ibis Oso Geo

For Oso geometry details or to compare the Oso with other class leading Enduro e-bikes use these tabs.

The Ibis Oso GX Transmission Build is available in sizes Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. As the Small and Medium are Mullet bikes, 29 front and 27.5 rear wheels while the Large and X-Large are 29 front and rear riders between Medium and Large have personality differences as well as sizing variations.

With a 64 degree headtube angle across all sizes the steering performance and trail measurements are well behaved regardless of size. The effective seat tube angle varies across the sizes as the saddle moves further from the bottom bracket. This gives the Oso a well balanced position for technical climbing.

Standover between the Large and X-Large is similar however the seattube length and top tube have expected differences.

Like most enduro bikes the Oso fit is going to be based around riders height, inseam, shoulder width and arm width.

Inseam and leg length make a large difference in sizing options. Longer legs typically will upsize while riders with longer torsos will review saddle height, stack and reach to determine which size will fit their riding styles.

Questions on sizing? Get in touch with our team and we are happy to go over your details to ensure we get you on the right size bike for your riding!

Ibis OSO eMTB: 155mm DW Rear Travel with 170mm Fork

Ibis Oso Storm Blue eMTB

Ibis launched their long awaited entry into the eMTB realm with the Ibis Oso! With 155mm of Dave Weagle rear suspension paired to a 170mm fork and powered by the powerful Bosch Performance CX motor this is a bike that lives up to its marketing of #DownhillBothWays

Enjoy some detail shots and descriptions of some of the stand out design of the new Ibis below.

Ibis Oso ebike Storm Blue eMTB rear Profile

The Oso has a divergent rear triangle design philosophy than you see on the Mondraker Crafty or the Yeti 160E – more like what we’re used to seeing on a motorcycle – however once you look closer you’ll see familiar details.

The Ibis eBike isn’t a single pivot rear end, instead you’ll see the upper and lower linkage that makes it a DW eBike.

DW eMTB

eMTB puts additional stresses on drivetrain and suspension for a variety of reasons. The bikes are heavier for one, they have the capacity for more power, but even more than that as the Ibis marketing mentioned earlier – they tend to make the riding “Downhill Both Ways” allowing riders to attack climbs previously out of the question.

However this requires another consideration to the suspension and drivetrain interaction as riders are now using more power, much deeper into the rear travel. Top tier designers have to factor this into the functionality of the bike. The stresses on the chain, cassette and freehub body have to be managed as well as ensuring eMTB bikes don’t have drivetrain forces that “lock” or resist fluid suspension movement.

Designed for Riders

Ibis designed the Oso around the rider. With a size range capable of stretching from about 5′ to 6’6″ chances are we can get you fit on the Oso.

To improve performance for smaller riders the Ibis eBike features “mixed” (I guess that’s the new, new term for Mullet?) wheels with a 29″ front and a 27.5″ rear.

The larger diameter 29″ front wheel provides the best roll over with a minimized angle of attack over terrain. Smaller riders will appreciate the smaller rear wheel when cornering or jumping the bike as it provides additional room to move behind the saddle.

BOSCH Performance CX

Medium, Large and X-Large Oso eBikes feature the 750wh battery. The Small Oso features a 625wh battery due to size and weight considerations – but – most small riders are lighter so the performance tends to even out when looking at mileage…

We’ve highlighted the BOSCH Performance’s performance (is duplicating words still considered alliteration? I’m not sure…) but we’ve talked about how the BOSCH mode selection provides riders with unrivaled capacity to balance the power output for their riding needs.

The setup on the Oso is no different in that manner.

Dialing in the Details

It sounds simple – but – you know, umm, simple isn’t always a thing anymore: but I love that the Ibis Oso features “integrated” front and rear lights. Now, for night riding, etc you’re still going to want a bit more (at least a headlamp in my opinion) but why not have the ability to increase your visibility and draw on the battery you’re sure to remember to charge!?

Custom Ibis Oso?!

Of course. It’s one of the things that sets BikeCo apart. Well, that, attention to detail, unmatched after sales service to help you fine tune suspension, tires, cockpit, etc, etc but back to the Custom Oso: Yes, we can do it!

Some common upgrades we’ve seen include upgrading to the Factory Kashima 38 or X2 shock. (Another popular update is to drop the GRIP2 damper into the Performance fork producing a Performance Elite fork with high and low speed compression as well as rebound)

Other riders may prefer Hope or Magura brakes. Not a problem.

AXS anyone? Of course. From GX AXS to XX1 we’ve got you setup with #thebestinMTB

Chat with our team about how you’d like to see your Ibis Oso eBike built up for your particular riding and BikeCo.com will get you on the right bike, at the right price – the first time!
