With the release of the SRAM T-Type Transmission drivetrains riders have access to the strongest and longest lasting products to the market. The X0 Transmission kit balances weight, performance as well as strength. Many riders building “no-holds-barred” bikes will choose the X0 over the XX Transmission for its more rugged capacity.

T3 X0 Transmission Drivetrain

SRAM’s T-Type Transmission products are designed as the strongest and longest lasting components on the market. This is an especially important factor with an eMTB build.

The added torque of the motor as well as the increased terrain that eMTB riders find themselves climbing can be had on your drivetrains wear components. Why not start out with the strongest and longest lasting out there and stretch your budget a bit?

Drivetrain Upgrades:

Frankly, we don’t see riders upgrade or swap parts on the T-Type drivetrains – there’s really nothing better out there. Maybe there’s a different Flattop chain color you prefer? But that’s about it so far!

T3 X0 Transmission Wheels and Tires

Spec’d with a solid set of DT Swiss HX1700 wheels with 30mm internal rim width as well as Maxxis Assegai EXO Plus front tire and Minion DHR II Double Down rear tire the 160E T3 X0 build features some nice kit here.

That said – Wheels and tires are a really common area on the 160E for swaps and upgrades.

Wheel Upgrades:

Riders shopping this level of bike often look at adding a bit to the budget to take it to the next level. Many riders go for Chris King, Industry Nine or Onyx hubs laced to either carbon or aluminum rims.

The most popular carbon rims are the Enduro layup of the Farlow or Kitsuma.

Tire Swaps / Upgrades:

Along with brakes this is the most common upgrade or swap that we see. The right tires will improve every ride – so let’s get you started with the best at delivery!

The most common tire upgrades on the Yeti 160E are to improve the small bump capacity through sidewall technology as well as maximize overall grip.

For the front wheel it’s common to see riders upgrade to the Maxxis Assegai Double Down. This provides a bit more protection while increasing the damping ability of the tire allowing a more progressive suspension setup without compromising grip.

On the rear tire it’s common to see riders swap to the Assegai as well. The Assegai has a bit more bite than the Minion DHR II built into the tread pattern, and with a motor assist why not take advantage of that!

Rim Protection:

Cockpit Swaps and Upgrades

You’re going to need the right size cockpit to get the most out of your bike. That’s why we setup riders with the right handlebar and stem.

It’s important to get your hands into the right position. So you’re going to need the correct rise and width on your handlebar. Handlebar width is an extremely important factor as well. Trimming bars will decrease the leverage ratio which can make your rider harsher than it needs to be. Starting with a bar closer to the ideal width, or perhaps a less stiff bar to begin with are both common swaps to the stock Yeti cockpit.

Yeti spec’s the 160E T3 X0 Transmission builds with the RockShox Reverb AXS seatpost and WTB Silverado saddle.

Upgrades / Swaps

The wireless AXS seatpost is top of the food chain – however – some riders might prefer going with another post and applying the price credit to other areas of their bike. No problem we have you handled there.
