Lower | IS52/40 – Integrated |
DV9 Headset Details
The DV9 frame features an integrated headset with an IS 41/28.6 upper and a IS 52/40 lower. The most popular headsets for the DV9 fame are the Cane Creek 110 or Chris King options.
Integrated headsets are often installed with a layer of grease, however, using a proper bearing retaining compound will minimize potential noise and wear during its service life.
Many home builders will have our team install a headset and hang a fork prior to shipment.
Seatube Diameter | 31.6mm |
---|---|
Maximum Seatpost Insertion | Small 180mm, Medium 250mm, Large 250mm, X-Large 270mm |
Exie USA Seattube Details
The Ibis Exie USA uses a 31.6mm diameter seatpost.
Do not force a seatpost past the maximum insertion depth or seattube failure may occur. The XC Exie USA often uses a smaller dropper post than a trail or enduro bike. Spec your bike with a seatpost that gives you the correct seating position without compromising the maximum insertion.

DV9 Frame Bottom Bracket & Chainline Details
The Ibis DV9 Frame utilizes a threaded 73mm BSA bottom bracket. Depending on your crank selection there are a variety of bottom brackets available.
Many home-builders have us install the bottom bracket prior to shipping the frame.
Chris King is a popular bottom bracket for Ibis bikes. A range of adapters allows both SRAM and Shimano specs to be used.
Ibis DV9 Chainline
The DV9 spec requires cranks for a 55mm chainline.
Wondering if you have the right cranks for the project? Chat with our team, or even better – order your cranks through BikeCo and we will ensure you get the right setup for the new chainline standard.

Ibis DV9 Frame Geometry
Learn more about the Ibis DV9 Frame geometry on the tabs below.
Ibis DV9 Geometry
The DV9 is offered in Small through X-Large and designed for rides from 5′ 0″ to 6′ 5″ in height.
Along with height DV9 riders will want to compare sizes based on inseam and arm length as well. Riders on the sizing cusp will reference leg length to help determine the ideal sizing.
Another thing to take into account sizing a hardtail like the DV9 is what your intended use is and will you be able to get your cockpit setup in an ideal position. If you’re building a more playful, confident DV9 you’ll want to keep your stem and bars in a more trail or even enduro type setup. Shorter stem, often with higher rise bars. For a more “racy” build a slightly longer stem with lower bars will likely be a more ideal positioning.
Wondering which bike provides you the best fit? Our expert team is here to help you define how your size, riding style, terrain and aspirations will effect your ideal sizing. Reach out to our team about your Ibis DV9 purchase by chat, email or phone!
