Yeti SB140 Geometry

The Yeti SB140 is available in five sizes: Small, Medium, Large, X-Large and XX-Large. There is a SB140 available for nearly every rider.

Use the tabs below for more info on the SB140 Geo, compare sizes with the Geo Chart as well as see how the SB140 measures up against other Trail to Enduro MTB bikes on the Comparison tab.

Like other Yeti bikes the SB140 is sized from rider height, flexibility, application, as well as leg and arm length. Riders who find their height in the cross-over of sizes will determine the better size based typically on inseam, flexibility and riding style.

Those with longer legs tend to upsize to improve riding position. This will increase the wheelbase and produce a bike with a bit more overall speed capacity. Going to a larger size will produce a ride that isn’t quite as snappy as a smaller option would be.

Riders with longer torsos or looking for a more “poppy” trail feel will tend to downsize. Although, with modern MTB frames designed to accommodate increased dropper post lengths riders who prefer the added wheelbase may upsize – so long as the reach doesn’t compromise stem size availability or put a rider “too far” over the front wheel.

Use the tabs to compare SB140 sizes as well as other against other enduro MTB geo.

Ibis DV9 Frame Geometry

Learn more about the Ibis DV9 Frame geometry on the tabs below.

Ibis DV9 Geometry

The DV9 is offered in Small through X-Large and designed for rides from 5′ 0″ to 6′ 5″ in height.

Along with height DV9 riders will want to compare sizes based on inseam and arm length as well. Riders on the sizing cusp will reference leg length to help determine the ideal sizing.

Another thing to take into account sizing a hardtail like the DV9 is what your intended use is and will you be able to get your cockpit setup in an ideal position. If you’re building a more playful, confident DV9 you’ll want to keep your stem and bars in a more trail or even enduro type setup. Shorter stem, often with higher rise bars. For a more “racy” build a slightly longer stem with lower bars will likely be a more ideal positioning.

Wondering which bike provides you the best fit? Our expert team is here to help you define how your size, riding style, terrain and aspirations will effect your ideal sizing. Reach out to our team about your Ibis DV9 purchase by chat, email or phone!

Exie USA Suspension Details

The shock spec’d on the Exie USA is the FOX Factory Float DPS Remote. This allows riders near instant suspension lockout shifts without letting go of the handlebars.

The Factory DPS Remote provides remote actuated Open and Firm mode, Rebound and Air Spring Pressure as well as Volume Spacers for tuning.

Exie USA Suspension Upgrade

Not a frequent upgrade, but heavier riders may prefer the standard 3 position Float DPS (without remote) as it has 3 low speed compression tuning adjustments.

If you’re wondering about how the Exie USA shock stacks up to your riding reach out to our team for more details.

Maybe you’re building and absolute XC machine? If that’s the case you may investigate the 100mm travel fork compared to the 120mm option. With the 100mm fork riders will steepen the headtube angle, reduce the trail measurement, lower the bottom bracket and stack slightly. For a XC race bike this might be ideal to have the most nimble setup possible. However, depending on your courses the 120mm fork could be preferred for better handling downhill where a rider can recuperate a bit.

Chat with our team adding a fork to your Exie USA frame order and get it right, right out of the box.

Do not force a seatpost past the maximum insertion depth or seattube failure may occur. The XC Exie USA often uses a smaller dropper post than a trail or enduro bike. Spec your bike with a seatpost that gives you the correct seating position without compromising the maximum insertion.

Similar to other Ibis bikes the Exie USA is sized on height as well as arm and leg length. Riders will want to find a bike that balances a strong XC position without compromising the great handling Ibis bikes are known for.

Small and Medium Exie USA frames have a bit tighter size spacing than from Medium to Large or Large to X-Large. This is most notable in standover, stack and reach.

Riders looking for a pure XC race bike will look at 100mm fork options. While riders looking for a wider range of terrain will find the 120mm fork provides a playful, comfortable and confident bike.

Ripley AF Headset Details

The Ibis Ripley AF comes equipped with a press-fit, zero-stack headset, featuring a ZS44 upper and ZS56 lower.

It’s quite common for many home builders to have the headset installed prior to receiving the frame.

Most riders are looking for a “one and done” headset. As such, investing in a high-quality headset is a wise choice. We recommend either the Cane Creek 110 or Chris King headsets. With proper maintenance and servicing, these headsets should endure the lifetime of your Ripley AF frame.

Now, you might be wondering if you can use an Angleset headset. In truth, there are very few situations where we would recommend an Angleset for the Ripley AF. If you’re seeking a slacker and more aggressive setup, the better approach is to increase the fork travel to 140mm. This maintains the steer tube concentricity within the carbon fiber headset, preserving its original design. Simultaneously, it slackens the headtube angle and slightly raises the bottom bracket – both advantageous for tackling more substantial and challenging terrain. Counterintuitively, using a 130mm fork to achieve a slacker headtube can actually lower the bottom bracket, which contradicts the benefits of a slacker headtube.

Do you have any questions or need assistance with your Ripley AF project? Feel free to chat with our team today, and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Ibis Ripley AF Frame suspension details
Ripley AF Suspension Spec
Shock FOX Performance DPS, 190x45mm. Included with Frame.
Fork Stock spec 130mm. 140mm option.

Featuring the FOX Factory DPS shock, the Ripley AF is dialed in for the down-country and trail rider.

For those seeking a slightly more robust setup, some riders may explore the FOX Float X. This option endows the Ripley AF with a more aggressive trail and light enduro capability. However, it’s worth noting that the availability of the 190×45 Float X from FOX can impact build timelines, so plan accordingly.

Ripley AF Suspension Upgrade

Wish the Ripley AF was a bit slacker? Or had a touch higher bottom bracket? These adjustments can significantly influence how the Ripley AF responds to changes in direction and its comfort level when tackling more substantial terrain. Riders interested in these modifications should definitely reach out to us to discuss the 140mm fork option.

In addition to providing a bit more travel, the extended fork length alters the axle-to-crown measurement, resulting in several geometry changes. These include a slightly slacker headtube angle, an increased trail measurement, and a taller bottom bracket height.

Feel free to chat with our team about adding a fork to your Ripley AF frame order, ensuring you get it precisely configured to meet your preferences right out of the box.

Ibis Ripley Frame Headtube Details

Ripley Headset Details

The Ibis Ripley uses a press fit, zero stack headset. This combo features ZS44 upper and ZS56 lower.

Having the headset installed prior to frame shipment is common for many home builders.

Carbon fiber frames don’t like to have press fit components driven in and out. That means headsets are also a popular place to use a top quality component. We suggest Cane Creek 110 or Chris King headsets. With proper service these should last the lifetime of your Ripley frame.

Can I Use an Angleset Headset? There would be extremely few conditions that we would use an angleset. Riders looking for a slacker, more aggressive Ripley are better suited increasing the fork travel to 140mm. This keeps the steer tube concentric in the carbon fiber headset as designed while it will slacken the headtube and slightly increase the bottom bracket – both great for riding bigger, burlier terrain. Slackening the bike with a 130mm fork will actually lower the BB – counter intuitive to the slacker headtube advantages.

Ripley Suspension Details

Featuring the FOX Factory DPS shock the Ripley is dialed in for the down-country and trail rider.

Some riders may look into the slightly more robust FOX Float X. This provides the Ripley a more aggressive trail and light enduro setup. However, availability from FOX on the 190×45 Float X can affect build timelines.

Ripley Suspension Upgrade

Wish the Ripley was a bit slacker? Or had a touch higher bottom bracket? These shifts will change how the Ripley changes direction as well as it’s comfort level in bigger terrain. Riders looking for this should definitively speak to us about the 140mm fork option.

Other than adding a bit more travel the additional fork length increases the axle to crown which modifies the geo. Geo shifts include a slightly slacker headtube angle, increased trail measurement, and taller bottom bracket height.

Ibis Ripmo AF Frame Details

Ripmo AF Headset Spec
Upper ZS44 – Zero Stack, Press Fit
Lower ZS56 – Zero Stack, Press Fit
Ibis Ripmo AF Frame Headtube Detail

Ripmo AF Headset Details

The Ripmo AF frame uses a ZS44 upper and ZS56 lower press fit headset.

Since a quality headset press makes installation much easier many home builders will have BikeCo press a the headset prior to shipment.

Upgrades for the Ripmo AF headst spec are the Cane Creek 110 or Chris King headsets. With proper service these should last the lifetime of your Ripmo AF.

Can I Use an Angleset Headset? There would be extremely few conditions that we would use an angleset. Riders looking for a slacker, more aggressive Ripmo AF are better suited increasing the fork travel to 170mm. This keeps the steer tube concentric in the headset. Additionally a longer fork will slacken the headtube and slightly increase the bottom bracket – both great for riding bigger, burlier terrain. Slackening the bike, with an angleset and 160mm fork will actually lower the BB and stack – counter intuitive to the goals of a slacker headtube.

Ibis Ripmo AF Geo

Use these tabs to review and compare the Ripmo AF geo to other enduro bikes from Ibis, Mondraker, Nukeproof and Yeti.

The Ripmo AF is offered in four sizes: Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. Riders from 5′ to 6′ 5″ are accommodated with fairly standard cockpit setups.

Shared dimensions include the stock 160mm fork producing a 64.9 degree headtube angle with a 341mm bottom bracket and 435mm chainstay length. Riders looking for a little more may gravitate to the 170mm fork option for a slightly slacker headtube and increased trail measurement.

Fit is determined with rider height as well as leg and arm length. Riders with notably longer or short legs may up or down size. If you find yourself between sizes chat with our team about fit details. This is particularly important for riders between Small and Medium or Large and X-Large as some of the geo changes are more notable than between the Medium and Large Ripmo AF bikes.

Questions on sizing? Get in touch with our team and we are happy to go over your details to ensure we get you on the right size bike. We can help you define which size will give you a more confident fit and feel for your riding terrain and style.

Ibis Ripmo Frame Details

Ripmo V2S Headset Spec
Upper ZS44 – Zero Stack, Press Fit
Lower ZS56 – Zero Stack, Press Fit
Ibis Ripmo V2S Frame Headtube Details

Ripmo Headset Details

The Ripmo uses a press fit, zero stack combo: ZS44 upper and ZS56 lower.

Many home builders will have BikeCo press a the headset prior to shipment.

As carbon fiber frames don’t like to have press fit components driven in and out it’s also a popular place to use a top quality component. We suggest Cane Creek 110 or Chris King headsets. With proper service these should last the lifetime of your Ripmo frame.

Can I Use an Angleset Headset? There would be extremely few conditions that we would use an angleset. Riders looking for a slacker, more aggressive Ripmo are better suited increasing the fork travel to 170mm. This keeps the steer tube concentric in the carbon fiber headset as designed while it will slacken the headtube and slightly increase the bottom bracket – both great for riding bigger, burlier terrain. Slackening the bike with a 160mm fork will actually lower the BB – counter intuitive to the slacker headtube.

Ripmo V2S Suspension Spec
Shock FOX Factory X2, 210x55mm. Included with Frame.

Ripmo Suspension Details

The Ripmo Frame features the FOX Factory X2 shock. This shock offers riders a tremendous tuning range. Featuring high and low speed adjustments to both Rebound and Compression as well as volume spacing options the X2 can be dialed in for nearly any rider.

Ripmo Suspension Upgrade

Maybe you want a little more aggressive Ripmo? You’re the rider who should talk to us about a 170mm fork option.

The additional travel increases the axle to crown which modifies the geo. Geo shifts include a slightly slacker headtube angle, increased trail measurement, and taller bottom bracket height.

Ripmo Frame Bottom Bracket & Chainline Details

The Ibis Ripmo Frame utilizes a threaded 73mm BSA bottom bracket. Depending on your crank selection there are a variety of bottom brackets available.

Many home-builders have us install the bottom bracket prior to shipping the frame.

Chris King is a popular bottom bracket for Ibis bikes. A range of adapters allows both SRAM and Shimano specs to be used.

Ibis Ripmo V2S Chainline

The current Ripmo chainline, or the Ripmo VS2, is a 55mm chainline to be compatible with the SRAM UDH derailleur hanger.

Previously the Ripmo used a narrower width chainline – but the narrower crank spec places the chainring closer to the triangle and negatively impacts shifting.

Wondering if you have the right cranks for the project? Chat with our team, or even better – order your cranks through BikeCo and we will ensure you get the right setup for the new chainline standard.

The Ripmo features a 180mm post mount rear brake. With an adapter the maximum rotor size is 203mm.

The Ripmo fit is dependent on rider height as well as leg and arm length. Riders with notably longer or short legs may up or down size.
