Yeti Switch Infinity Review, Extended Ride

After several weeks elusively riding Yeti it’s time for a Yeti Switch Infinity Review.

The current Yeti Switch Infinity suspension was a fairly radical departure from previous Yeti designs – but man they nailed it.

Early Switch Infinity

Yeti has used the SB (SuperBike) designation prior to the current Switch Infinity design. Earlier Switch Infinity pivoted the lower linkage through eccentric spacers and bearings. This involved large diameter bearings as well as a 2 piece “micro-switch” assembly. Visually it is quite similar to the Ibis Ripley – although it does a bit different thing based on patents, etc. Continue reading Yeti Switch Infinity Review, Extended Ride

DW Suspension Review, Extended Ride

With the Ibis Demo here at BikeCo we have a lot of new faces coming into the shop. Many of these riders have advanced past lesser suspension systems and researching the leading options. Let’s take a look at what they can expect with a DW Suspension Review.

My DW background: I’ve been riding an Ibis HD4 for about a season and a half. I’m also spoiled, I can jump on demos for quick “marketing” loops when they’re here… I’ve spent considerable time on the early Mojo and Mojo HD too. I feel very confident speaking on the DW suspension.

DW Suspension Advancements

The early DW (Dave Weagle) Suspension on the original Mojo’s was good. The modern DW is better. Continue reading DW Suspension Review, Extended Ride

Suspension Compression Tuning Basics

So you’ve gone through our volume spacing and sag calculators – ready for the next step? Let’s go over some Suspension Compression Tuning Basics.

The compression circuit of your MTB suspension is one of the more misunderstood adjustments you have at your disposal. A good reason for this is frankly MTB suspension tends to be over compressed for the average rider. “I run my shocks completely open” isn’t an uncommon answer, particularly with stock suspension.

The compression circuit is designed to slow, well, compression forces. Compression forces literally compress the suspension. The Compression circuit is the opposite of the Rebound circuit, which controls the shaft’s return to equilibrium (just picture all of the things we’re going to go over in reverse for Rebound). Volume Spacing Calculator & Explanation

MTB suspension setup is crucial for performance. Working with clients all over the world we hear a wide range of questions and theories. In this blog we take a look at setup offering a Volume Spacing Calculator & Explanation.

Let’s get some quick disclaimers and notes out of the way. We measured a 2019 Fox 36 Float Grip 2 29″ fork with 160mm of travel for the calculator. Measurements are fairly accurate – but I would not claim them to be exact. They are however, certainly close enough for the comparison theory we want to present.
